I have to buck the trend here because I love this printer. First of all, this was not designed to be your home office all in one. This was meant to be used in a corporate setting as a network photo printer serving a floor or small workgroup. I have 2 other Canon printers, a TR and TS. This ib4120 outperforms both those printers in print quality. It can spit out a 20 page document before either of those two finish making all those mysterious sounds when you first hit the power button. PLUS the cartridges in this thing are HUGE. They last at least4 times longer than those little "tanks". I have two Pro-100's, a TR and a TS series. i am not kidding when i say this 4120 is my favorite. I connected it to my router with a network cable - I didnt bother with wireless, and I have had no problems whatsoever. It is a pain that you can only change the cartridges when the printer tells you to. But there is a way around this - you unplug the printer while its printing and then you can change cartridges. In summary, i love this printer because:500 sheet paper trays - advanced paper handling, 2 seperate trays, i put plain paper in one and my photo paper in the otherit is very fast in standard mode. as slow as other canon printers in high quality modeCartridges last forever and 1 dayPrint quality is almost as good as my pro-100 which has 8 ink tanks. Blacks are amazing - true black, not dark grayThe LCD is display is bad. Seriously I can't believe how bad it is. It's a tiny little black & white 2 line LCD. You are required to read it in order to operate the printer, but the font is so small, i have to use a magnifier to see it AND it's not backlit, so I must use a flashlight to illuminate the lcd because it is so dark I can not see it at all.The printer is not perfect, but it only costs $100, so put a flashlight next to the printer.I print alot of high resolution graphics. On plain paper this printer has the best quality output.Added the following on 11/19/2020:I now own three of these printers and I am going to buy a fourth to have one on hand. All the reviews you read here are terrible - and thats just how Canon wanted it. You see, they market this printer as a business printer. As such, the ink is a fraction of the cost because Canon expects it to be used in a high volume office. So if your average home user were to buy this printer, the cartridges that come with the printer would likely last a year or two. The cartridges for this printer are about 10x bigger than the ones in those home multi-function units that canon sells, So Canon purposely makes this printer in such a way that it is unpleasant for a home user. For an IT professional, it is really simple. If you know how to log into your router and do a WPS connection to this printer, it works flawlessly first time, every time. I have 2 - Canon PRO-100 professional photo printers that get very little use now. This $ 129 printer has better resolution prints!
