I am making gift bags for the women on my golf league. I am pleased with the bags. I ironed on the graphics using Avery transfer paper, also purchased on Amazon. The first one became discolored from the ironing. For the remainder, I utilized a piece of fabric between the iron and the bag and problem was solved.Great for the $. Cheaper then buying at Walmart.Looked great, but note that you have to use their website/app and create an account in order to print. This slowed me down but otherwise worked nicely.I had some delightful images of a 1920's cartoon character to add to a quilt I was making for my granddaughter. The only and best way to do this was with a fabric/heat transfer with Avery Products. All went well in the trial runs. I followed the instructions to the letter, which I must say were a bit sketchy and fill-in-the-blank to suit me, but the trials were beautiful. Not so much on the real thing. When I moved on to the real thing, the border of my quilt, the fabric and the method of application were exactly the same as in the trials. However, the outcome changed. In every case the clear adhesive turned white and lifted. This occurred exactly at the time that I would separate the back from the transferred image (the fabric). Further, large parts of the image would stay on the peel-away.This could not be repaired. It could not be removed, washed out, transferred over. A 16" x 72" strip of fabric was ruined. That border panel of my quilt had to be replaced and because I didn't have more of that shade of fabric, I had to replace all four sides. It was a very upsetting, heartbreaking and expensive experience. Is this product made JUST FOR WHITE OR GRAY T-SHIRTS and all others need not apply? Perhaps the labeling that Avery is so good at should say so!Problem: third grader wanted to do a piano/singing tribute to Bowie, and online printers would not print the design sought due to copy right, though we had modified some of the graphics. Their position was understood. Then I discovered the Avery transfer paper. I bought both the dark and the light color transfer papers not knowing which the little guy would prefer at the end. Here is the upshot, working with both the light and dark paper:• Wash and dryer dry your t shirt/fabric first. A shrunk fabric works best• the more time you spend prepping and the closer you follow the instructions the better your end product• don't be afraid of force (pushing down) and heat• Trimming the extra paper on the light paper minimizing areas that will be clear but somewhat glossy• Trimming the extra areas on the dark paper avoids transferring the color white to the fabric• Through trial and error I figured out it is better to avoid sharp corners to make them round, reducing the risk of corners peeling off• The side of the paper you print on is the white side for both dark and light paper, so make sure you know how to load the paper in your inkjet printer• Your final print area can be larger than a sheet as you can cut images/words from the paper and space them or use them elsewhere on the shirt (for instance, arm badges can be printed in a corner of the same sheet)Trick:• To avoid damage to the reverse side graphics, if you do a front/back design, use a large cutting board or a piece of flat wood slide it in the t-shirt that way the wood sits between the front and back. This also solves the issue of both sides of the t-shirt not being perfectly flat/ironed before you startLight Color Paper:• You need to print in reverse as the image is reflected back on the fabric. I used Powerpoint and flipped the images and writing and avoided the online Avery tool for doing so• As mentioned before, you don't have to cut very precisely as you only leave behind gloss/clear where you don't trimDark Color Paper:• You DO NOT need to print in reverse• You need peel of the printed paper BEFORE initiating transfer with an iron -I wasted one sheet not bing careful• The portion you don't trim transfer as white and you can create a border, rough or smooth, as I did with the front of the dark t shirt• Peeling the transfer portion from the t shirt before ironing is difficult....I used tweezers and eventually I managed to peel off the backing• You use an included parchment paper over the peeled paper to press the image onto the fabricFinal Impressions:• Don't expect professional grade printing• Recognize these are not permanent and are intended for fun and event needs• Mistakes and rough edges on my work is my own haste getting in the wayThis met my needs, to have a front/back t-shirt design on both dark and white t-shirts, using the appropriate paper for each color.**** UPDATE *****Both the white and black t shirts have been washed about 15 times each by now. And, they still look very nice. This product worked out great and was a better value than other brands. The color print was more vibrant on this than silhouette brand for light colors. The heat time is nice and short. I followed all instructions for pretreatment of the fabric as well as application of the product and the VBS t-shirts turned out great! I know the instructions said not to use bleach or dry on high, but I tested it because parents aren’t going to special wash one t-short; results - the image held strong. There was no cracking or peeling. I will definitely use this product again. This product is so good I used them for some bags I needed to make and the colour doesn't fade on them as long as you follow the instructionsI've used print on fabric for years, but I usually buy the dark one. I decided to give a try to this one for white fabric since it was also an Avery one. I'm an administrative assistant so I use Avery products all the time. But this one just doesn't work. Most of my transferts didn't survive laundry and the one that did survive once, didn't survive wearing for a day, it became all flakey. I'm very disapointed since the package is brand new. I only used 2 sheets. It's just a waste of money. I'm so sad.I made a shirt for my son and all it does is peel apart . He didnt' even get to wear it . So unimpressed with this I want a refund for this terrible quality it did to my shirt for son.It ironed on well, but the "clear" part doesn't blend it as much as I had hoped the shirt I used. Though that could have been the shirt and not the iron on.For the number of sheets it is expensive, not sure if I'd buy it again. Not a great product.... The only thing great was the fast delivery.I handwashed inside out but it doesnt last long.Small designs work okay. But if you have large designs where you have to use the whole sheet, good luck.I got bubbles everywhere and it tore up. In the end I didn't use the whole pack. Just threw it out.
