Product Description

Dremel Nylon filament has been specifically engineered for optimal printing with your Digi lab 3D45. Nylon is a thermal plastic that softens and melts when it's heated, building your designs layer by layer. Parts made from Dremel's Nylon are stronger, more flexible and more durable than parts made from traditional PLA.

Product Features

Dremel nylon filament boasts higher strength, flexibility and durability than traditional pla filaments

Nylon-printed parts have few rough edges and produce smooth end products with little need for post-processing

Manufactured and tested to provide smooth and consistent building

Dremel Nylon filament is engineered to produce a stable, strong object with a high quality finish

Compatible with 3D45 only, not compatible with 3D20 or 3D40-FLEX

Pros:- Filament feeds well, no issues with adhesion- Prints great on my Xone with 110C bed and 250C nozzle (full metal hot end)Cons:- Twice the price of my last spool of nylon- Spool has a tiny little 16mm hole and doesn't fit on my printers spool holder. (Like a need an excuse to print another one...)The initial layers print flawlessly if th e filament is dry. However, upon cooling, larger parts warp significantly, making them unusable. Smaller radially symmetric parts would probably print well.Interlayer adhesion was excellent. Part strength was super.OK, it's Dremel, so the expectation is that the product will be at least above average. And sure enough, it is.Have made several products with this nylon and am delighted with how durable this is.Of course, as with most filaments, it is imperative that it be stored properly when not being used. (A simple ziploc bag with a packet of color-indicating silica will keep this product flexible and fresh for your next build).Worst filament everWas so excited I finally had a project for my nylon, and was disappointed when I opened the box. It came tangled. Considering Dremel charges extra for their filament, I would have expected more. Will print and update my rating if it prints ok.Great material, when it prints. The fact that the diameter is small (1.65mm) in places and the material is soft combine to stop feeding in a dremel printer. This has happened to me on 2 rolls, the original order and the replacement.Didn't use it yet and will take a while, so I hope I don't get problems, because my roll was not vacuum sealed. When I've removed it from the box and pulled the bag, I could hear air being sucked. I've immediately inserted it into a ziplock bag with silica gel, but who knows how long it was exposed to humidity. The filament was packaged terrible and was tangled somewhere in the filament. When I checked up on my tiny 4-5 hours in I realized it had looped over itself and gotten stuck destroying the entire print. Waste of moneyYou will need to dry this before use. Some genius put the silica gel in the centre of the reel which is then isolated from the filament by the vacuum seal bag. My first print came out very bumpy and I could hear popping sounds throughout.Had a few issues in the beginning with this . But got the settings dialled in for my machine.Bed-95 ishNozzle- 255ishA must for nylon is glue .Elmers All purpose is all I used(rub it on the bed while warming up)Also used aluminum tape to build a small shelter around the printing piece while it printed to keep the heat close by .Had issues with warping , but downed my infill to 25-30% and it fixed things. Also used a .4 nozzle but ran .42 beads to ensure overlap for strength.Overall ...... When I got this dialled in ...It was beauty .Great product in comparison to other I have used in the past (for Nylon)I've been fighting with the nylon filament for days now. Very hard to achieve good print quality, and layer adhesion is very poor... I think the Dremel machine is really only good at printing PLA...total garbage. the layers dont stick no matter what you do
